Ashley's Star Quilt | Digital pattern
Ashley’s Star Quilt is a modern twist on the traditional medallion quilt. Using a variety of simple blocks and a mix of machine piecing and foundation paper piecing (FPP), this quilt is perfect for both those with FPP experience as well as confident beginners. The quilt finishes at 50” x 50”, perfect for a cosy throw.
The downloadable pattern includes:
Printable star FPP templates with a 1/4" seam allowance included
Directions and diagrams on how to piece the blocks and prepare templates
Colouring pages to help you choose your fabric layout and colour scheme
Helpful tips and diagrams for easy piecing
Printable files for both A4 and US letter format

I had the privilege of testing Cait Lisle's Ashley's Star Quilt. The pattern is user friendly and was not complicated. I liked the fact that there is a swatch chart that I could make use of to stick my sample colours onto and refer back to when needed. The paper piecing was also explained clearly. The part I really appreciated about this pattern was that it's not only a written pattern but it also comes with many diagrams that accompany the instructions, and this helped to confirm and clarify the instructions. The other enjoyment of Ashley's Star Quilt is it had quite a few different aspects to it - it is not all made up of squares and half square triangles or only foundation paper piecing. It has + - 5 different patternings to it, which makes it very fun and exciting to do.
If you want to make a quilt that will keep your interest all the time and you want a quilt that will learn different techniques at the same time as creating a beautiful piece, then this is the quilt for you. I highly recommend it to anyone, be you a beginner or a old hat at quilting.
